It's imperative for baseball players to be highly conditioned to play the game. Today's players are stronger, faster, and quicker than those thirty years ago and to compete against ballplayers of similar age, a well designed conditioning program should be implemented. Everyone has their own theories about how to condition for a sport, however, often strength and conditioning coaches will teach many of the same type of excercises and techniques that have been scientifically proven to produce gains in strength, speed, and agility.
